OF THE EXTREME SOUTHERN PANHANDLE...

THE FIRST SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL OF THE YEAR CONTINUES TO FALL
ON THE SOUTH PLAINS AND PORTIONS OF THE EXTREME SOUTHERN PANHANDLE
THIS AFTERNOON. THE UPPER LOW THAT HAS BROUGHT THE HEAVY SNOW TO

COUNTIES HAVE BEEN REPORTED AS SNOW PACKED AND IMPASSABLE IN SOME

NORTHERLY WINDS HAVE ALSO LED TO POWER INTERRUPTIONS ACROSS PORTIONS
OF THE SOUTH PLAINS. THE WINDS ARE ALSO CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DRIFTING
OF SNOW. A FEW LOCATIONS WERE REPORTING VISIBILITIES NEAR ZERO AT
TIMES. THE WIND IS ALSO MAKING IT FEEL MUCH COLDER WITH WIND CHILL
TEMPERATURES FROM THE TEENS TO LOWER 20S.
