The tornado continued northeast causing minor tree damage and structural damage to a property northeast of town. The tornado dissipated about one mile northeast of Emden. .MAYWOOD TORNADO IN SOUTHERN LEWIS COUNTY... Rating: EF-1 Estimated peak wind: 100 mph Path length /Statute/: 2.0 miles Path width /Maximum/: 150 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start date: 04/27/2016 Start time: 9:00 PM CDT Start location: 1WNW OF MAYWOOD Start Lat/Lon: 39.9576/-91.6278 End date: 04/27/2016 End time: 9:04 PM CDT End location: 1 NNE OF MAYWOOD End_lat/lon: 39.9649/-91.5911 SURVEY_SUMMARY: A tornado touched down in a farm field north of Highway O and west of Oak Ave, which is west-northwest of Maywood. The tornado moved east directly hitting a home in its path, causing EF1 damage by lifting a large portion of the roof from the house. Roofing materials were deposited up to a half mile to the east of the building. The tornado continued east toward Oak Ave causing significant tree damage. At Oak Ave the tornado rolled a full size tanker truck on its side and destroyed two grain bins at this location. The tornado continued east across Olive Ave causing additional tree damage.
