Herbert and Jean Morgan are Cooperative Observers for the National Weather Service at their home in Union, Missouri.  Aside from time spent in support of the NWS Cooperative Observer Program, the Morgans are also very active in a variety of civic and church functions.

Herb accepted a teaching position in Union, Missouri at the close of World War II, and he was in that vocation until his retirement in May of 1985.  He met and married Jean in 1955 who was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  Herbert and Jean have been sending in their daily reports of high and low temperature and 24 hour precipitation for over 30 years now.  They took over the reports at this historic site back in September of 1971, and have rarely missed an observation.  The Morgans were getting ready to go on a trip when I last visited.  They made arrangements for mail, for someone to feed Heidi the cat, and most importantly... they made arrangements for someone to take the observations while they were gone.

Thank you Herb and Jean Morgan for your excellent work.  The National Weather Service and all those that use your data appreciate your dedication.
