Caused extensive damage and caused 14 fatalities over Morgan county.  It was nearly a mile wide just before it moved into Cole county.  Moved from just SE of High Point to 4 miles NW of Jefferson City, injuring many people.  Debris from the tornado contributed to the wreck of a passenger train on the Missouri Pacific Railroad around midnight.

Formed near Enon and moved ENE to the SE edge of Jefferson City.  Two people were killed as a home was leveled 4 miles south of Russellville.

Formed northwest of Jefferson City and moved NE into the southern tip of Boone County before moving into Callaway county W of New Bloomfield.  Most of the significant damage and 6 deaths occurred in Callaway county.

A tornado struck just south of the U.S. 50 5 miles east of Jefferson City or 1 mile west of the intersection of U.S. 50 and County Route J.  Debris from a farm south of the highway struck a car knocked it off the highway.  On the N side of the highway, several sheds and a garage were carried away.  The car originally in the garage was found nearly 1000 feet away.  The next damage occurred to outbuildings on a farm 1 mile NE.  After moving across open country, the tornado next struck a farm on the west edge of Osage City destroying a barn and several sheds and scattering debris to the NE for more than a mile into Callaway County.

A tornado touched down near Spring Garden in extreme NE Miller County and moved to near Brazito.  Three trailers were destroyed and a number of trees uprooted and damaged.  The last damage was to a church near Brazito.

Tornado formed 2 miles S of Etterville in Miller County.  It damaged a barn and the tops of several trees.  It damaged a barn and the tops of several trees.  A barn was destroyed on a gravel road 2 miles further along the track.  The tornado next struck a farm and service station located on a access road off of Highway 17 near Eugene.  Extensive damage was done to the barn and to outbuildings.  The storm continued through a small part of Cole County and produced damage to several other buildings, a house and highway signs.  The roof was blown off a service station.  The last evidence of storm damage was at Hickory Hill where large trees were twisted and broken.

An intermittent damage track was produced by this tornado. Several mobile homes in Elston had awnings torn off while other houses sustained damage to shingles. Around 0235 CST the tornado crossed the Missouri River into extreme southern Callaway County and producd what was described as minor structural damage to the building of a trucking firm in Old Cedar City near the intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 54. The tornado then touched down at the Jefferson City Airport and damaged the roof of a National Guard aviation hangar. Two helicopters and several private aircraft were also damaged. At approximately 0245 am CST the tornado crossed the Missouri River again into Osage County. Several barns near Frankenstein had part of their roofs blown off.  Total damage along the path was $5,000,000.

A tornado formed near Eugene and tracked northeast for 12 miles across Cole County. Emergency officials reported that 28 homes suffered some type of damage, mostly minor. Two barns were destroyed southeast of Brazito. Hundreds of trees were downed along the path.
