Periods of moderate to heavy rain will be ongoing, with a continued chance for thunderstorms. Heavier rains bring a risk for debris flows & mudslides in/around burn scars.
There is an increased risk of heavier rain rates and/or thunderstorms for many areas south of Point Conception through Monday morning. The areas with higher chances of thunderstorms or heavier showers include the Santa Barbara County South Coast, the Ventura County coastal plains, the LA County basin and foothills, and the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys. This higher risk also includes the Franklin/Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst Burn Scars.
A storm system moving across SW California through Monday will bring a cold air mass into the area with low snow levels and mountain snow. Snow levels are expected to drop to between 3500 to 4500 feet, with 3-8 inches of snow for many areas, except 6-14 inches in the E San Gabriel Mountains. There could be impacts to the Interstate 5 Corridor as snow levels lower. Slick roadways are expected above 3000 feet with winter driving conditions at the higher elevations, especially in the San Gabriels.
