NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio station WZZ-58 serves portions of northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana, including the Kankakee, Morocco and Lowell areas of northern Illinois and Indiana, from a 300 Watt transmitter in Kankakee, Illinois. The nominal effective range of the transmitter is about 40 miles. Continuous 24 hour programming is provided from the National Weather Service Chicago Forecast Office, located southwest of Chicago in Romeoville Illinois.
