TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN IN RESERVE LOUISIANA AROUND 1710 UTC MON JUN 30 
2003. PATH LENGTH ONE QUARTER MILE...40 YARDS WIDE. MAXIMUM 
INTENSITY ON FUJITA SCALE...F1. TORNADO HIT PRIVATE SCHOOL CAUSING 
SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO SEVERAL BUILDINGS THEN STRUCK A MOBILE HOME 
PARK DAMAING AT LEAST 20 MOBILE HOMES. ONE MOBILE HOME LIFTED IN AIR 
AND TOSSED 30 YARDS. ONE ADULT AND 3 CHILDREN INJURED...TREATED AND 
RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL.

TWO OTHER WEAK SHORT LIVED TORNADOES TOUCHED DOWN IN SOUTHEAST 
LOUISIANA AND ONE IN COASTAL MISSISISPPI CAUSING ONLY MINOR PROPERTY 
DAMAGE.
 

H. STORM EFFECT

WIND DAMAGE MAINLY CONFINED TO DOWNED TREE BRANCHES AND TREES ACROSS 
THE EAST PORTION OF SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA AND COASTAL MISSISSIPPI. 
WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES ACROSS SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA AND SOUTH 
MISSISSIPPI DUE TO THE FALLEN TREE LIMBS AND TREES HITTING POWER 
LINES. 

STORM SURGE FLOODING NOTED IN COASTAL SECTIONS OF SOUTHEAST 
LOUISIANA. MOST SIGNIFICANT IMPACT IN SOUTHERN TERREBONE 
PARISH...WHERE LOCAL LEVEE WAS BREACHED AND OR OVERTOPPED IN THE 
MONTEGUT AREA WITH SOME HOMES FLOODED. 

STORM SURGE FLOODING IN REMAINDER SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA CONFINED TO 
COASTAL AREAS...OUTSIDE OF HURRICANE PROTECTION LEVEES...FLOODING 
ROADWAYS AND A FEW STRUCTURES. AREAS IMMEDIATELY BORDERING LAKES 
PONTCHARTRAIN ALSO IMPACTED BY STORM SURGE FLOODING. LOW LYING 
ROADWAYS AND SOME STRUCTURES FLOODED. STORM SURGE FLOODING NOTED 
ALONG IMMEDIATE LAKEFRONT AREAS OF MANDEVILLE AND SLIDELL IMPACTING 
STRUCTURES.

LOUISIANA DEPT OF INSURANCE REPORTED THAT INSURED PROPERTY DAMAGE 
LOSSES APPROXIMATELY 22 MILLION DOLLARS.

SOME FLOODING OF ROADWAYS AND LOW LYING STRUCTURES IN COASTAL 
SECTIONS OF HANCOCK COUNTY MISSISSIPPI.
