KATRINA...NOW A CATEGORY 1 HURRICANE WITH WINDS OF 75 MPH AND HIGHER GUSTS...WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS EAST- CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI INTO THE EVENING HOURS. WINDS ACROSS SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA AND THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST HAVE SETTLED AS KATRINA MOVES OFF. ADDITIONAL DAMAGE CREATED BY KATRINAS WINDS WILL BE SMALL AS COMPARED TO THE DAMAGE INFLICTED UPON THE AREA AS SHE CAME ONSHORE...
