Severe Thunderstorms in the East Sunday; Excessive Heat Lingers in the Southern U.S. and Returning to California

Scattered damaging winds from severe thunderstorms will be possible across parts of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic States Sunday. Excessive heat will continue over the southern U.S. Sunday before another round of heat arrives Monday through the central and southern U.S. spreading into the East by Independence Day. Spotter Training Cancellations

Out of an abundance of caution and to assure public safety, the following Spotter Training events have been cancelled.

The National Weather Service will be looking at dates and times for rescheduling these sessions.

Cancellations Include:

Lagrange County - 3/12
Elkhart County - 3/17
LaPorte County - 3/24
Whitley County - 3/25

This is in coordination with efforts to mitigate potential impacts of COVID-19. We will be evaluating the situation over the next several weeks.
