Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall over the Southern U.S.; Pacific Storm to Impact Hawaii

A storm system will produce severe thunderstorms over and near Louisiana, and heavy to excessive rainfall from the Southern Plains through the Ohio River Valley today. A strong weather system will bring the potential for flash flooding, severe thunderstorms, strong to locally damaging non-thunderstorm winds, and high elevation snow to the Hawaiian Islands through Friday. Overview

Scattered thunderstorms developed over northwest Indiana in the early evening. One of the storms produced a brief EF-0 tornado over eastern Benton and western White Counties. As the evening progressed the storms became widespread as they moved across northern Indiana, resulting in heavy rainfall and flooding.
