The Modified Red Flag Threat Index

Matrix showing combinations of RFTI (A) and RFTI (B) for each RFTI Mod value, category, and relationship to RFW criteria. Red cells = non-RFW, maroon cells = typical RFW conditions, purple cells = very rare term values outside a 10-yr climatological database

The Modified Red Flag Threat Index (RFTI Mod) is defined as:

RFTI Mod = RFTI (A) + RFTI (B)

where:

RFTI (A) = relative humidity term (as determined by a climatological quartile ranking from 2000-2009)

RFTI (B) = wind speed term (as determined by a climatological quartile ranking from 2000-2009)
