...QUICK BURST OF HEAVY SNOW FOR PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN SOUTH PLAINS AND EXTREME SOUTHERN PANHANDLE... A HEAVY BAND OF SNOWFALL OCCURRED LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND IS STILL MOVING QUICKLY ACROSS THE NORTHERN SOUTH PLAINS AND EXTREME SOUTHERN PANHANDLE. SNOWFALL RATES IN EXCESS OF 3 INCHES AN HOUR OCCURRED AS IT MOVED OVER SEVERAL COMMUNITIES. SNOWFALL TOTALS AS OF 840 PM (ALL IN INCHES): LAZBUDDIE 2.5 HAPPY 1-3 TULIA 2 WITH LOCALLY MORE NAZARETH 1-2 DIMMITT 1 PLAINVIEW 1-1.5 SILVERTON AROUND 1 FLOYDADA DUSTING (< .5) HART DUSTING (1/4) MULESHOE LESS THAN 1 BUT MOST OF IT HAS MELTED EARTH TRACE OLTON LESS THAN 1
