7 WSW Athens - 2 W Athens An EF0 tornado touched down approximately 0.3 miles west of the intersection of Zelner Road and Ripley Road in southern Limestone County. Upon touchdown the tornado produced tree damage. Tracking to the NE, the tornado produced damage to a metal barn roof along Bell Road, snapped a tree at the base, and uplifted an attached roof of a porch on a small home. Farther to the northeast, the tornado produced mainly roof and window damage in a mobile home park along the west side of Blackburn Road. On Ham Road, more extensive damage was found to a mobile home, which was pushed back about six feet, detaching it from an awning and cement parking pad. This mobile home was anchored to concrete pads that were sitting on gravel, but the mobile home was left largely intact. The tornado continued to snap trees across Evans Road and Reid Road. As the tornado approached U.S. Highway 72, it produced significant damage to a metal-sided outbuilding, while producing mainly roof and siding damage to a couple of metal building systems on the south side of U.S. Highway 72. The tornado produced damage to a couple of metal signs at a gas station located along the north side of U.S. Highway 72 at the intersection of W. Washington Street. Along W. Washington Street, tree damage continued, with some trees uprooted, including a tree that fell on a vehicle. At the intersection of W. Glenn Valley Drive and W. Washington Road, a large tree branch fell, partly on a house. The tornado appeared to lift near this point, with some minor tree damage farther to the NE in western portions of Athens. 2 SSE US Highway 80/AL Highway 28 - 3 SSE McDowell The tornado first touched down along County Road 28 where very minor tree damage was noted on the east side of the road. The tornado then tracked northeast over mainly forested areas of Marengo County for several miles producing sporadic tree damage. The tornado widened and strengthened rapidly as it continued its northeast trek toward US Highway 80. Here, the tornado reached its widest point at approximately 350 yards. Substantial tree damage was noted on both the north and south sides of Highway 80 along and near the intersection of County Road 57. A home sustained roof damage along County Road 57. The homeowner was home at the time and reported receiving the warning well before the storm hit. On the north side of US Highway 80, property and structural damage was extensive. Here several homes sustained roof and structural damage. One brick home sustained complete roof loss and partial wall collapse. The occupant, a 93 year old woman, reported receiving the warning on her phone and sheltering in an interior hallway before the storm hit. She was shaken up but unhurt. Just east of that location, a doublewide and singlewide mobile home on the same property were completely destroyed with the undercarriage of both blown a substantial distance. Inspection of both dwellings indicated little to no anchorage of the structures. Three people were reported injured at this location with one being airlifted for more serious injuries. Tree damage in this area was extensive with large old growth hardwoods snapped. The combination of the damage to the conventional brick home, along with the tree damage and mobile home destruction, prompted the maximum wind rating of 120 mph. The tornado continued its northeast movement damaging additional structures north of Highway 80 before narrowing and weakening south of the Sumter County line and west of downtown Demopolis. The end point was estimated due to lack of survey accessibility in that area. Start: 32.4206/-87.9787 End: 32.4809/-87.9061 |

8 NW Lisman - 2.5 WNW Lisman Tornado moved into Choctaw County AL from Clarke County MS along CR 20. Several softwood trees were snapped and hardwoods uprooted along CR 20. As the tornado moved northeast, tree damage continued along Hinton Rd and Faith Rd in the Hinton community. Minor roof damage occurred to a home along Hinton road and a single wide modular home was flipped on its side and heavily damaged. The track continued northeast across Rock Gap Rd and eventually across Mt. Nebo Rd where numerous hard and softwoods were uprooted or snapped. A roof of a two story home was partially removed along Highway 10 and several large hardwood trees were uprooted. The tornado crossed highway 10 where it lifted just west of Ruffintown Rd. The damage along the Choctaw County portion of the track was consistent with a high end EF-1. This tornado is a continuation of a track that began in Jones County MS and produced EF-3 damage in Laurel. Start: 32.0877/-88.4489 End: 32.1848/-88.3246 |

3 WSW Meridianville - 1 S Meridianville After cycling, the storm produced a second and weaker tornado northeast of Liberty Hill Road, downing numerous trees in a wooded area on a farm. From there, it approached Monroe Road, with sporadic tree damage noted as the tornado again skipped through the Spencer Lake and Spencer Estates Subdivisions. Minor roof damage was noted to a couple of homes in Spencer Lake, with one home on Madelyn Drive sustaining moderate roof damage, splaying shingles and debris northeast into a field. It was at this point that the tornado was rated EF-0, with wind speeds of 80mph. Additional minor tree and roof damage was noted in Spencer Estates, uprooting a large magnolia tree, before skipping toward Highway 231 and damaging a billboard before dissipating on the east side of the highway. The tornado track ended on the east side of Highway 231 with little/no additional damage found beyond this point. Start: 34.8593/-86.6252 End: 34.8622/-86.5706 |

4 SSE Harvest Minor tree damage was noted just north of Harbin Rd on Summer Cove Circle. The tornado started producing sporatic tree damage on Pettus Rd as it approached the Summerfield Subdivision. It skipped along a path producing major structural damage off of Running Brook Ct, removing nearly two thirds of a roof here. Minor roof and siding damage occurred to surrounding homes here as well. It was this damage that was rated EF-1, with wind speeds of 105mph. Along Sarah Jane Dr. winds lifted up an awning and caused damage to a home, windows were broken and fences were not only blown over but broken apart and lofted onto and into a house behind them on Jasmine Drive. This house experienced damage from additional debris along with fence segments and posts that impaled the home. Minor damage was noted as the tornado proceeded to move northeast with small branches and shingle damage was observed in the Legacy neighborhood. A small outdoor metal shed was damaged and several trees were snapped or uprooted along Douglass near Golden Oak Drive before it lifted. At this point, the tornado cycled and produced another tornado track 6.7 miles northeast, beginning west of Meridianville, but between the two tracks, very sporadic tree damage was found. No clear path could be determined, linking the two tracks together, therefore, the Meridianville track will be a separate tornado track. Start: 34.7904/-86.7366 End: 34.8013/-86.7194 |

Joe Wheeler State Park - 1 S Rogersville An EF-1 tornado formed near the border of Joe Wheeler State Park and the Tennessee River. Almost immediately, a large swath of trees were either snapped or uprooted. Both hardwood and softwood trees were toppled, therefore leading to a rating of high-end EF-1. Park officials estimate thousands of trees fell as a result of this tornado. The peak width was 500 yards, with evidence of multiple vortices present both to the east and west of the bay. There were multiple swaths of convergent tree damage, as well as gaps of standing trees in between these swaths. It is worth noting that several structures remained standing in the middle of these swaths and all damage to those structures was the result of falling trees. Continuous tree damage was observed across the remainder of Joe Wheeler State Park. Sporadic damage was then noted with trees along McLean Drive, across Lover's Lane, and over to Braden Cove where an RV was toppled, several houses had minor roof damage, and a few trees were snapped. The tornado then shrank considerably and uprooted a few pine trees and then lifted just east of Tipton Road. Start: 34.8017/-87.3322 End: 34.8064/-87.2809 |

2 S Town Creek - 9 ESE Rogersville Damage was first observed along CR 101 north of CR 143. Large-limb tree damage was the primary damage indicator observed in this area, with estimated winds of 107 mph close to touchdown. As observed on radar, the circulation of the tornado tightened east of CR 101 and intensified significantly as it approached CR 265. CR 265, approximately 1 mile south of Highway 20, observed major damage to three structures. Structure damage indicators were a combination of single wide and double wide manufactured homes. It should be noted that one of the structures listed as a double wide was a prefabricated home with no anchor system. The traditional double wide manufactured home included an auger anchor system while the single wide home had a pan anchor system. Regardless of the anchor, each system failed due to intense lifting force, which led to the structure to roll off its plot, causing total destruction. Two fatalities and an injury were reported at the double wide home, with additional injuries at the other destroyed structures. Start: 34.6445/-87.4126 End: 34.7739/-87.1283 |

2 SW Colbert Heights - 4 WSW Leighton The damage path began on Underwood Mountain Road where several small hardwood trees were snapped. Tree damage continued on a northeast track onto County Farm Road where several large hardwood trees were both snapped and uprooted. More extensive damage was seen along Lynn Drive, Thomas Road, and Woodmont Drive where several residential structures sustained at least minor roof damage and many large hardwood trees were uprooted and snapped. At least three sheds were heavily damaged and metal roofing materials were lifted into trees or blown downstream. Tree damage continued on a path to Foster Nolen Road, where the most extensive damage occurred. Significant roof damage was observed on at least 3 single family homes. A roof was completely blown off of a brick single family residence, where bricks were blown off the western facing wall and several windows were blown out. A camping trailer was overturned and several small sheds were destroyed. Extensive tree damage was seen with many large hardwood trees uprooted and snapped near the base. There was evidence suggesting the tornado cycled around this location before continuing east. Tree damage continued along US-43 where several hardwood trees were snapped. Four trailers were overturned at the Longhorn R Arena off of 3 Mile Lane and several large hardwood trees were uprooted. Extensive shingle damage occurred at one brick single family residence on the eastern side of 3 Mile Lane. Tree damage continued along the path through Gargis Lane, where branches were snapped on a few smaller hardwood trees. Start: 34.6400/-87.7331 End: 34.6881/-87.6051 |

No damage to the home was found other than the winds lofting plywood, shingles and tools used for the work. Some of the plywood and shingles were found a few hundred yards north in the adjacent neighborhood. A few trees were uprooted at the eastern end of Ivanhoe Lane. Further to the north, the tornado crossed Rossburg Drive and Rossburg Place. Here it caused significant roof damage to one home, broke apart portions of five fences, deposited plywood and some roofing material on the roof an other homes, uprooted a few trees and tore a small portion of roof off of an upstairs room. 6.48 | 600 | 0 | 0 | 1 SE Oak Mountain Lake - 1 W Shoal Creek Golf Club The tornado developed just northeast of County Road 11 near County Road 36. This area was inaccessible, and the tornado start point was based upon NEXRAD dual pol tornado debris signature off the KBMX radar. The tornado navigated rough terrain across Ivy Branch and into the northwest portion of a subdivision along Reach Crest Road and Reach Crest Drive where thin tree trunks were snapped and other trees were uprooted. One tree was uprooted and fell onto a sports utility vehicle, damaging the rear door and knocking out the window. A nearby residence suffered notable roof damage resulting in three holes that penetrated the ceiling sheet rock and permitting water damage to portions of the second level. The tornado continued northeast where limited uplift to a roof occurred and a wind turbine ventilator was torn off the roof and found over 20 feet away from the home. Across the street along a narrow drainage basin, the funneling of inflow winds likely caused wind speed acceleration that knocked over a heavy metal outdoor grill, tore a few downspouts from their wall anchoring, and downed some fencing by snapping the support posts and blowing the wood at least 10 feet. Further northeast a small portion of a covered drive suffered some uplift of sheathing at North Shelby Baptist Church where a few trees were snapped or uprooted near the entrance of Belcher Drive. To the east of U.S. Highway 280, multiple trees were snapped or uprooted along a portion of Old Highway 280 road near Salser Lane. The tornado moved north-northeast of this point through uninhabited and inaccessible areas and then reached the Highland Lakes Subdivision where it crossed Highland Lakes Drive and affected areas along Southledge Road. The majority of damage here was due to snapped or uprooted trees though some minor roof damage was noted to a home along Southledge Road. Further northeast along Southledge Road near Ledge Circle, a home lost some shingles and a portion of a backyard fence was downed due to the winds. The tornado continued northeast and affected some areas along Highland Lakes Trail along with some locations along Springhill Lane, Springhill Court, Mountain Trace, and Watersedge Circle. Nearly all of the damage in this area was to trees either snapping or becoming uprooted. One home did lose a window likely due to a falling tree. Further northeast the tornado produced tree damage on portions of Knollwood Drive, Watermill Circle, Highland Lakes Trail, Sandhurst Circle, Grove Park Parkway, and Grove Park Circle. Along Grove Park Parkway there was some roof damage to a home along with minor damage to two signs and one street light along the roadway. 17.20 | 1175 | 0 | 0 | 2 SW Allgood - 2 N Camp Sumatanga The tornado touched down near Tidwell Hollow Rd where several soft and hardwood trees were damaged and uprooted. The tornado then moved northeast along Tidwell Hollow Rd crossing Lake Drive. It then crossed over a mobile home park where additional trees were uprooted and numerous mobile homes were severely damaged or destroyed from falling trees. It is noteworthy that nearly all of the mobile homes and several vehicles damaged were due to uprooted trees and not direct wind damage. The tornado continued northeast along Highway 75, where an outdoor building was completely destroyed. The tornado then crossed Boat Landing Road where numerous soft and hardwood trees were snapped or uprooted. This is the approximate location of where the tornado first reached EF-1 intensity. The tornado then continued east along Springville Blvd., where additional trees were uprooted and several single family homes sustained minor roof damage. A destroyed barn was also observed near Old Brook Ln. The tornado continued eastward and weakened near Woodard Drive where additional trees were uprooted. Farther east-northeastward, more damage from the tornado was observed from a second survey team. Most of the damage throughout this elongated path remained non-contiguous and primarily affected trees and vegetation throughout the area. However, minor roof and structural damage was observed along Mountain View Church Road and Mountain Ridge Road near the borders of Calhoun, Etowah, and St. Clair Counties. It was here the tornado reintensified to EF-1 strength and caused damage to farm structures, as well as snapped or uprooted dozens of trees. The back deck of a nearby home was damaged from one of the many uprooted trees on the property. Though the tornado reached its widest point of 1175 yards near this location, damage outside of EF-1 intensity remained generally sporadic in nature. Thereafter, the tornado weakened as it crossed Gallant Road in St. Clair County where additional trees were uprooted. The tornado then lifted near the intersection of Gallant Road and Clear Springs Drive. In total, the tornado damage path was 17.21 miles long and 1175 yards wide at its widest point. 3 NW Society Hill - 3 NE Smiths Station The tornado touched down just southwest of Rogers Road and just northeast of U.S. Highway 80 in northeast Macon County. Initially some small limbs were broken off of trees along with some pine trees uprooted. The tornado then moved east across Calloway Baker Road and across Glassy Mill Road where more pine trees were uprooted. The tornado began to strengthen as it moved further east crossing Macon County Highway 43 as it downed additional pine trees then crossed the county line into southwest Lee County. The tornado crossed Lee County Road 29 where the tornado removed the roof and nearly collapsed a quarter of the cinder block walls of a church along with uprooting several trees. The tornado continued to intensify as it moved north of due east crossing Lee County Road 11 where it peeled back sheet metal off of the porch of a home and ripped some sheet metal off of two outdoor storage sheds and continued to uproot pine trees. Debris from structures and their contents were strewn along a tree line to the east of their original location and some evidence of weak ground rowing was observed along the surface tornado path. The tornado reached its peak intensity just south of the intersection of Lee County Road 36 and Lee County Road 39 where it rolled a manufactured home and emptied its contents nearby on the northern side of the track while additional damage toward the southern portion of the track included the complete destruction of a house with all debris tossed a short distance from the foundation. The tornado bent the frame of a car around the remnant of a large tree whose upper portion had broken off and totaled three vehicles by severe impacts into the bases of two remaining tree stubs. Further east on the other side of the small lake, a well-anchored and constructed home was leveled with debris removed from the foundation and anchored bolt screws remaining intact. Toward the northern edge of the tornado, the destruction of two double-wide and a single-wide manufactured home was surveyed. This was the peak intensity of the tornado due to the combination of damage to the two houses along with extensive severe tree damage including trees snapped at their bases and large trees with expansive root systems fallen along with some sporadic evidence of ground rowing. The tornado began to decrease in intensity as it continued east roughly paralleling Lee County Road 39 where two manufactured homes were destroyed with most debris deposited away from the original location and both of the metal frames of the mobile homes could not be located. Another manufactured home was destroyed with its contents deposited in a swath from the site into the remains of a nearby tree line. A car was found in an overturned position against a hardy tree stripped of most limbs with a mattress from a bed wrapped around the mid portion of the tree. A badly mangled metal frame of a manufactured home and debris displaced nearby was all that remained of one residence. Nearby a tractor trailer rig was on its side and shoved around a sturdy tree while a nearby site-built home lost nearly all of its exterior walls with debris remaining on or near the home site. Severe tree destruction continued into this area with trees snapped at their bases and uprooted. To the north of Lee County Road 39 significant debris were deposited in the wooded area where the tornado performed significant timber damage and toppled at least one high-tension power line tower visible in the near distance. After demolishing two double-wide and a single-wide manufactured home the tornado moved northeast and crossed Lee County Road 51 just north of the intersection with Lee County Road 39 where double-wide manufactured home was moved off of its base and the exterior walls collapsed on a family residence while tree damage continued with snaps at the bases of trees. Some weakening occurred further east as the tornado crossed Lee County Road 38 where it deposited a large amount of debris into a ragged forested area. The tornado moved slightly north of due east, crossing Lee County Road 100 and Lee County Road 166 where it caused damage to trees with some trunks snapped and some trees uprooted. Tornado damage continued further east along Lee County Road 165 and along portions of Lee County Road 40 and Lee County Road 2049 where it collapsed exterior walls of a family residence removed most of the roof of another house and caused some loss of roofing material from a house and a manufactured home then the tornado flipped a manufactured home and deposited its contents nearby along with destroying the roof and walls of a single-wide manufactured home and caused continued tree damage. The tornado moved east across Lee County Road 170 then turned more to the northeast where it crossed Lee County Road 401 near the intersection with Lee County Road 175 and continued home and timber damage all the way to Lee County Road 241. The tornado continued northeast crossing Lee County Road 245 and Lee County Road 179 with damage to the roof of a house along County Road 239 along with continued timber damage. The tornado then began to turn more to the east as it approached Phenix City from the west, crossing Lee County Road 239 and portions of Lee County Road 246 then affecting portions of lee County Roads 289, 292, 290 with damage to the roof of a house and timber damage. The tornado crossed near Fullers Lake area where it rolled a manufactured home over and caused some loss of roofing material to a house. Additional damage occurred along Lee County Road 294 and Lee County Road 298 where a professional building lost some of its roof materials and damage to siding and roofing occurred to several small homes that were not well constructed. As the tornado crossed U.S. Highway 280 it caused some roof damage to a restaurant, damaged a billboard and collapsed a cellular service communications tower. Timber damage occurred northeast of U.S. Highway 280 along Lee County Road 298. The tornado moved more to the right and affected areas along Lee County Road 318 and 319 where some roof damage to homes occurred and much in the way of timber damage resulted. A tree fell and crushed an outbuilding and a single-wide manufactured home lost portions of its roof. The tornado moved northeast from this point toward the Chattahoochee River where it caused roof damage to some houses near the river and downed a metal high-tension power line tower. The tornado crossed the Chattahoochee River and continued extensive damage in Georgia. The tornado damage path was 26.73 miles long and was 1600 yards wide at its widest point.
