Heat Continues for the East and South-Central U.S.; Strong to Severe Storms Across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast

The extremely dangerous heat wave continues across the East Coast and much of the South-Central U.S. today. Record high temperatures are expected for some areas especially across the Mid-Atlantic where extreme heat risk conditions reside. ...Summary...
A brief tornado touched down on the southwest side of Versailles,
damaging homes, businesses and trees along its path. Ground and
aerial photos confirmed a debris pattern and placement associated
with a tornado. Damage further west between Versailles and Holton
was more indicative of straight line wind damage.

These findings were supported by assistance from Ripley County
Emergency Management and Versailles Fire Department.

following categories:

EF1...Weak......86 to 110 mph
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 mph
