Pulse convection thunderstorms formed in an extremely unstable airmass characterized by a low level thermal profile conducive to generating downburst and microburst tendencies for the storms that developed. Numerous storms produced strong straight-line wind damage in this environment, with over 50 reports of wind damage throughout the local area.
