...Summary...
With considerable assistance from the Brown County Emergency
Management and Highland County Emergency Management Agencies,
the National Weather Service in Wilmington surveyed a long swath
of intermittent wind damage from west of Mount Orab in Brown
County, Ohio, to Hillsboro in Highland County Ohio.

Damage was heaviest near the beginning of the track where a
property on the north side of Bardwell West Road had a garage
heavily damaged with roof removal and some wall collapse. Around
this property there were a considerable number of tree limbs snapped
and broken off, and several trees pushed over.

Damage continued to be seen in intermittent fashion to the east on
Hillcrest Road, and along Greenbush East Road where a few trees were
down and/or snapped off.

Into Highland County, damage again became more consistent and heavy
on Rosselott Road where numerous tree limbs were snapped and a few
trees uprooted.

Another area of concentrated damage was found on Gossett Road where
once again numerous trees were snapped or pushed over, and near the
intersection of Gossett and Hollowtown Road.

Further northeast, damage was found on Caleb Hall road where
portions of trees were snapped and a back porch covering was lifted
up over a home and deposited across the front yard.

Further northeast in the city of Hillsboro, tree damage and minor
building damage was surveyed at the Ponderosa where some minor
roof damage occurred, as well as the Highland County Senior Center
where two windows were blown out. Other minor damage to
outbuildings was seen in this general area as well as several
trees snapped.

No conclusively tornadic damage was seen along this entire path.
Absent from the damage pattern was any indication of a convergent
debris fall of trees or tree limbs, evidence of considerable
uplift of roofing structures, or spattering of field debris
indicating a ground-based circulation. Overall, damage was blown
downwind without indication of convergence or cross-axis fallout
to the path of the storm.

Most of the damage along this path is consistent with wind speeds
from 60 to 70 mph. At the property where the garage was heavily
damaged on Bardwell West Road in Mount Orab, wind speeds are
estimated around 80 mph. In the city of Hillsboro where the glass
windows were blown out and tree damage was observed, estimated
wind speeds were 70 mph.
