Heat Continues for the East and South-Central U.S.; Strong to Severe Storms Across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast

The extremely dangerous heat wave continues across the East Coast and much of the South-Central U.S. today. Record high temperatures are expected for some areas especially across the Mid-Atlantic where extreme heat risk conditions reside. ...Summary...
The tornado touched down initially just south of I-70 near Little
York Road and Dog Leg Road, and traveled southeast while it
intensified , producing damage consistent with EF2 wind speeds at
several locations to the west of I-75, most notably on Cricket
Lane and on Coppersmith Avenue in vicinity of Brantford Road.
Several homes in this area had complete or near complete roof
removal, with some collapse of an exterior wall. Tree damage was
significant in this area as well. The tornado continued east while
crossing I-75, where damage to businesses in this area was
consistent with mostly EF1 and some low-end EF2 wind speeds. The
tornado continued southeast and began to weaken and lifted
approximately in the vicinity of Needmore Road.

Maximum estimated wind speeds based on this ground survey with
aerial support from Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Section are
approximately 135 mph.
