Heat Continues for the East and South-Central U.S.; Strong to Severe Storms Across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast

The extremely dangerous heat wave continues across the East Coast and much of the South-Central U.S. today. Record high temperatures are expected for some areas especially across the Mid-Atlantic where extreme heat risk conditions reside. Clusters of storms moving through a warm and humid airmass resulted in strong wind gusts and scattered instances of wind damage throughout the area. The most concentrated and significant area of damage was located in northern portions of Clark County, Ohio, where nearly a dozen separate reports of substantial tree damage were reported. Some roof damage also occurred as a result of these severe storms.
