Atmospheric River in the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies this Weekend

A Pacific storm and atmospheric river will impact the Pacific Northwest states and northern Rockies this weekend, bringing locally heavy low elevations rain and heavy high elevation snow in the mountains. Snow

A band of powdery snow moved through the I-71 corridor on Tuesday morning producing 1-4" of accumulation. Many snowfall observers noted the very light, fluffy nature of the snow. Some snow-to-water ratios were measured as high as 35:1 with the snow, which is a much lighter-density snow than normal for the area.
