...NON-TORNADIC WIND DAMAGE IN EASTERN HARDIN COUNTY...

A DAMAGE SURVEY WAS COMPLETED IN EASTERN HARDIN COUNTY YESTERDAY IN
THE WAKE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS DURING THE EVENING OF SUNDAY
NOVEMBER 17TH.

THE SURVEY FOCUSED ON DAMAGE EAST OF KENTON IN EXTREME EASTERN
HARDIN COUNTY...MAINLY ALONG COUNTY ROADS 235 AND 265. DAMAGE AND
THE ASSOCIATED DEBRIS OCCURRED ACROSS A DISTANCE OF ABOUT 2.2
MILES. ON COUNTY ROAD 235... A GARAGE WAS DESTROYED AND THE
ADJACENT HOUSE SUFFERED DAMAGE AS WELL WITH THE CHIMNEY
DESTROYED...WINDOWS BROKEN...AND SOME DAMAGE TO THE EXTERIOR OF
THE HOUSE. DEBRIS WAS STREWN TO THE NORTHEAST AND EAST OF THE
STRUCTURES. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO ABOUT 5 LOCATIONS ALONG COUNTY
ROAD 265. THIS INCLUDED DAMAGE AT A HOG FARM WHERE ONE THIRD OF A
HOG BARN ROOF WAS REMOVED AND A MACHINE SHOP WAS DESTROYED. AT
ANOTHER LOCATION NORTHEAST ALONG COUNTY ROAD 265...TREES WERE
BLOW DOWN...THE HOUSE ROOF SUSTAINED DAMAGE AND DAMAGE OCCURRED TO
ANOTHER STRUCTURE ON THE PROPERTY. TREES WERE BLOWN DOWN AND
DAMAGE OCCURRED TO SEVERAL OTHER PROPERTIES ALONG COUNTY ROAD 265.

THE AVERAGE WINDS ALONG THIS SWATH OF DAMAGE WERE ESTIMATED TO BE
AROUND 85 MPH.
