THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON OH WITH ASSISTANCE FROM THE PIKE AND SCIOTO COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT HAVE CONFIRMED A TORNADO BEGINNING 3 MILES NORTHEAST OF RARDEN OH IN SCIOTO COUNTY AND TERMINATING IN RURAL SOUTHWEST PIKE COUNTY OHIO ON MARCH 2 2012. THE FIELD SURVEY INDICATES A WEAK TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NEAR HIGHWAY 772 AND LEFT FORK ROAD IN EXTREME NORTHWEST SCIOTO COUNTY...AND PROGRESSED EAST-NORTHEAST ALONG AND TO THE NORTH OF CAMP CREEK ROAD IN PIKE COUNTY BEFORE LIFTING. DAMAGE ALONG THE PATH WAS PRIMARILY TO TREES...WITH NUMEROUS TREES SNAPPED OFF AND UPROOTED. A MOBILE HOME ON CAMP CREEK ROAD WAS DAMAGED WITH PORTIONS OF THE ROOF REMOVED...WHICH CAUSED AN EXTERIOR WALL TO COLLAPSE. THE RESIDENT REPORTED SEEING A TORNADO ON THE GROUND APPROACHING THE HOME.
