...SUMMARY...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON OH HAS CONFIRMED A
TORNADO NEAR BERLIN IN BRACKEN COUNTY KENTUCKY ON MARCH 2 2012.

A DAMAGE SURVEY PERFORMED ON MONDAY MARCH 5TH CONFIRMED AT LEAST ONE
BRIEF...WEAK TORNADO IN BRACKEN COUNTY. THE TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN
INITIALLY NEAR HALEY RIDGE ROAD AND LIFTED BEFORE CROSSING WILLOW 
LENNOXBURG ROAD.

DAMAGE CONSISTED OF A DESTROYED GARAGE...SNAPPED POWER LINE POLE...
AND HEAVY DAMAGE TO A BARN. SEVERAL TWO BY FOURS FROM THE BARN WERE DRIVEN
ONE TO TWO FEET INTO THE GROUND. AT THE END OF THE PATH THE DAMAGE 
CONSISTED OF NUMEROUS MEDIUM SIZED TREES SNAPPED. THE DAMAGE ASSOCIATED
WITH THE BARN SHOWED EVIDENCE OF ROTATION.

ALSO...THERE WERE NUMEROUS OBSERVATIONS OF MINOR TREE AND ROOF DAMAGE 
BETWEEN POWERSVILLE AND GERMANTOWN. THIS DAMAGE WAS CLASSIFIED AS STRAIGHT
LINE WIND DAMAGE WITH ESTIMATED WIND SPEEDS OF 60 MPH TO 70 MPH.

FOR REFERENCE...THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE CLASSIFIES TORNADOES INTO
THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:

EF0...WIND SPEEDS 65 TO 85 MPH.
