THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON OH HAS CONFIRMED A
TORNADO NEAR PIKETON IN PIKE COUNTY OHIO ON APRIL 20 2011.

A NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOUND THAT A TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN AT THE PIKE
COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 23 IN PIKETON. A STORAGE
SHED WAS DESTROYED. METAL DEBRIS WAS STREWN ABOUT THE PROPERTY.
ANOTHER BUILDING SUSTAINED ROOF DAMAGE. THE DAMAGE AT THE
FAIRGROUNDS WAS INDICATIVE OF A TORNADO OF EF0 STRENGTH ON THE
ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE WITH A 100 YARD WIDTH AND A 0.1 MILE PATH
LENGTH.

TORNADO EAST OF PIKETON IN PIKE COUNTY OHIO ON APRIL 20 2011.

A NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOUND THAT A TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ABOUT 3 MILES
EAST OF PIKETON...OR NEAR ZAHNS CORNER.  AT THIS
LOCATION...NUMEROUS LARGE LIMBS WERE DOWN AND OTHER LIMBS WERE
TWISTED. THERE WAS MINOR ROOF DAMAGE TO A HOME. A MOBILE HOME WAS
BLOWN OFF ITS FOUNDATION AND THE UNDERPINNING WAS BLOWN OUT FROM
UNDER ANOTHER MOBILE HOME. WINDOWS WERE BLOWN OUT OF ONE
RESIDENCE. A STORAGE SHED WAS ALSO DESTROYED. THE DAMAGE IN THIS
AREA WAS RATED EF0...WITH A 100 YARD PATH WIDTH AND 0.1 MILE PATH
LENGTH.
