THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON OH HAS CONFIRMED A
TORNADO IN AND NEAR THE CITY OF CRIDERSVILLE IN AUGLAIZE COUNTY OHIO
ON OCTOBER 26 2010.

A DAMAGE SURVEY DONE BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON
OHIO CONFIRMED A BRIEF TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ABOUT 1.8 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF CRIDERSVILLE. THE TORNADO THEN LIFTED AND MADE A
SECOND TOUCH DOWN IN THE TOWN OF CRIDERSVILLE WHERE IT MOVED
THROUGH SEVERAL CITY BLOCKS.

DAMAGE INCLUDED ROOFS BLOWN OFF OF A NUMBER OF HOUSES...A HOUSE
SHIFTED OFF ITS FOUNDATION...A HOME WITH MAJOR STRUCTURAL
DAMAGE...A BRICK GYMNASIUM WHICH SUFFERED A COLLAPSE OF ABOUT HALF
OF THE STRUCTURE...AND OBJECTS IMPALED IN THE SIDE OF BUILDINGS. A
GARAGE WAS ALSO DESTROYED. AT THE SITE OF THE INITIAL TOUCH DOWN A
BARN WAS DESTROYED.

SEVERAL EYE WITNESSES OBSERVED THE TORNADO. THE DAMAGE IS
CONSISTENT WITH WIND SPEEDS AROUND 115 MPH. THIS IS A LOW END EF2
TORNADO ON THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE.

A DAMAGE SURVEY CONDUCTED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON OHIO CONFIRMED A BRIEF WEAK TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ABOUT 4.8 MILES SOUTHWEST OF CRIDERSVILLE. THE TORNADO WAS ON THE GROUND FOR A SHORT TIME BEFORE LIFTING UP. DAMAGE INCLUDED A GARAGE DOOR BLOWN IN AND A BARN COLLAPSE. THE DAMAGE IS CONSISTENT WITH WINDS SPEEDS AROUND 75 MPH. THIS IS AN EF0 TORNADO ON THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE. FOR REFERENCE...THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE CLASSIFIES TORNADOES INTO THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: EF0...WIND SPEEDS 65 TO 85 MPH.
