Heat Continues for the East and South-Central U.S.; Strong to Severe Storms Across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast

The extremely dangerous heat wave continues across the East Coast and much of the South-Central U.S. today. Record high temperatures are expected for some areas especially across the Mid-Atlantic where extreme heat risk conditions reside. ...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON OHIO CONDUCTED AN AUGLAIZE
COUNTY STORM DAMAGE SURVEY ON WEDNESDAY AUGUST 4 2010...

A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON
OHIO CONDUCTED A DAMAGE SURVEY IN AUGLAIZE COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON.
THE DAMAGE OCCURRED WITH THUNDERSTORMS THAT MOVED THROUGH
AUGLAIZE COUNTY ON WEDNESDAY...AUGUST 4TH 2010 AROUND MIDDAY.
PRELIMINARY INDICATIONS ARE THAT THUNDERSTORMS MOVED THROUGH THE
COUNTY PRODUCING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS IN THE 80 MPH TO 100 MPH
RANGE. THE DAMAGE SURVEY WAS CONDUCTED IN THE NORTHERN PART OF
AUGLAIZE COUNTY. THE MAJORITY OF INFORMATION AVAILABLE AT THIS
TIME INDICATED THAT STRAIGHT LINE WINDS RESULTED IN SEVERAL BARNS
BEING DAMAGED OR DESTROYED...SEVERAL SILOS WITH MAJOR DAMAGE OR
DESTRUCTION...AN OLD BRICK SCHOOL BEING DESTROYED AND TREES DOWNED.
