Heat Continues for the East and South-Central U.S.; Strong to Severe Storms Across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast

The extremely dangerous heat wave continues across the East Coast and much of the South-Central U.S. today. Record high temperatures are expected for some areas especially across the Mid-Atlantic where extreme heat risk conditions reside. Severe Storms & Flooding

Two waves of thunderstorms impacted the region on June 27. The first moved from the Tri-State region east and northeast during the afternoon hours. The second moved southeast through the region during the evening hours. There were scattered reports of wind damage during both events, and flash flooding occurred with the slow moving evening line of storms (mainly from Wilmington to Cincinnati).
