Heat Continues for the East and South-Central U.S.; Strong to Severe Storms Across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast

The extremely dangerous heat wave continues across the East Coast and much of the South-Central U.S. today. Record high temperatures are expected for some areas especially across the Mid-Atlantic where extreme heat risk conditions reside. ...MICROBURST CONFIRMED IN ROBERTSON COUNTY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS CONFIRMED THAT A MICROBURST CAUSED 
DAMAGE OVER ROBERTSON COUNTY ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON...JUNE 3 BETWEEN 
430 PM AND 435 PM. THE MAJORITY OF THE DAMAGE WAS LOCATED TO THE 
NORTHEAST OF MOUNT OLIVET. SEVERAL HOMES SUSTAINED ROOF DAMAGE AND 
THE LOSS OF VINYL SIDING. ONE HOME HAD A SECOND STORY WINDOW WITH 
BROKEN GLASS WITH THE WINDOW FRAME BLOWN INWARDS. SEVERAL BARNS HAD 
OUTER WALLS COLLAPSED WITH THE LOSS OF METAL ROOF PANELS. THESE 
BARNS APPEARED TO BE OLDER AND POORLY CONSTRUCTED. NUMEROUS TREES 
SNAPPED NEAR THE TRUNK OR COMPLETELY UPROOTED. WIND GUSTS WERE 
ESTIMATED BETWEEN 80 AND 85 MPH.
