Heat Continues for the East and South-Central U.S.; Strong to Severe Storms Across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast

The extremely dangerous heat wave continues across the East Coast and much of the South-Central U.S. today. Record high temperatures are expected for some areas especially across the Mid-Atlantic where extreme heat risk conditions reside. ...EF0 TORNADO CONFIRMED IN SOUTHERN CLINTON COUNTY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON HAS DETERMINED THAT 
DAMAGE NEAR MARTINSVILLE IN SOUTHERN CLINTON COUNTY WAS CAUSED BY A 
WEAK BRIEF TORNADO ON EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING...JUNE 4 BETWEEN 1225 
AM AND 1230 AM. A BARN AND A SHED SUSTAINED DAMAGE AT A RESIDENCE 
ALONG JONESBORO ROAD JUST SOUTHWEST OF MARTINSVILLE. TWO TREES AND 
NUMEROUS LARGE LIMBS AND BRANCHES WERE DOWNED IN THE AREA. THIS 
TORNADO HAS BEEN RATED AN EF0 ON THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE...WITH 
WIND SPEEDS ESTIMATED AT 65 MPH.
