Heat Continues for the East and South-Central U.S.; Strong to Severe Storms Across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast

The extremely dangerous heat wave continues across the East Coast and much of the South-Central U.S. today. Record high temperatures are expected for some areas especially across the Mid-Atlantic where extreme heat risk conditions reside. ...F0 TORNADO CONFIRMED IN WESTERN AUGLAIZE COUNTY...

A DAMAGE SURVEY WAS CONDUCTED IN AUGLAIZE COUNTY EARLIER TODAY AND
AN F0 TORNADO WAS CONFIRMED. THE TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN IN NEW
KNOXVILLE AROUND 10 PM EDT MONDAY EVENING...AUGUST 28TH. THE PATH
LENGTH EXTENDED EAST FOR ABOUT 3/4 MILE AND THE GREATEST WIDTH
WAS AROUND 300 YARDS.

SEVERAL TREES WERE DOWNED AND MINOR DAMAGE OCCURRED TO NUMEROUS
HOMES. SOME DEBRIS LANDED ON THE RUNWAY AT THE NEIL ARMSTRONG AIRPORT.
THE DAMAGE WAS CONSISTENT WITH AN F0 TORNADO. F0 WIND SPEEDS RANGE FROM
40 TO 72 MPH.
