PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILMINGTON OH
900 AM EDT THU JUN 3 2004

...F1 TORNADO DAMAGE FOUND IN ADAMS COUNTY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON HAS DETERMINED THAT STORM
DAMAGE ABOUT 2 MILES SOUTH OF PEEBLES IN ADAMS COUNTY WAS CAUSED BY 
A TORNADO. THE TORNADO OCCURRED ON MAY 31 2004 AT ABOUT 130 AM.

THE DAMAGE OCCURRED ALONG A 500 YARD LONG PATH THAT WAS 
APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET WIDE. NUMEROUS TREES ON THE DAMAGE TRACK WERE 
UPROOTED...TOPPED AND TWISTED. A LONG FENCE WAS ALSO DESTROYED. 

THE DAMAGE IN ADAMS COUNTY WAS CONSISTENT WITH THE F1 CATEGORY ON 
THE FUJITA SCALE...WITH WIND SPEEDS RANGING FROM 73 MPH TO 112 MPH.
