THE FIRST TORNADO TOUCH DOWN OCCURRED AT ABOUT 515 PM IN FLORENCE COUNTY ABOUT 4 MILES WEST OF THE TOWN OF COWARD. THE SPOTTY DAMAGE PATH RAN EAST ABOUT 1500 YARDS LONG AND AROUND 30 YARDS WIDE, DOING DAMAGE MAINLY TO TREES AND OUTBUILDINGS WITH WINDS ESTIMATED AROUND 100 MPH. SNAPPED SOFTWOOD TREES WERE THE MAIN INDICATOR OF THE WIND SPEED...AND THE TORNADO WAS RATED AS AN EF1 ON THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE IN THE AREA EXCEPT ALONG THE PATH OF THE TORNADO.

THE SECOND TORNADO TOUCH DOWN OCCURRED AT ABOUT 640 PM IN HORRY COUNTY AROUND 4 MILES NORTHWEST OF CONWAY. THE DAMAGE PATH WAS SMALLER...ABOUT 100 YARDS LONG AND 10 YARDS WIDE, SNAPPING SOFTWOOD TREES...DAMAGING AN OAK TREE AND CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO STRUCTURES. THE TORNADO WAS ALSO RATED AS AN EF1...AND THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMAGE IN THE NEAR VICINITY.
