Severe Weather in the Central and Southern Plains; Rain and Mountain Snow in the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies

A powerful storm is expected to bring periods of heavy rain, gusty winds, and the potential for severe thunderstorms throughout the southern to central Plains through Monday. Widespread precipitation and heavy mountain snow is expected across the Northwest and northern Rockies through Monday. Westerly winds will increase across the Mojave Slopes tonight, where a Wind Advisory is in effect from Midnight to 2 PM PST Monday. Here are the probabilities for wind gusts of 55 mph or higher. Affected areas may include Mojave and California Highways 14, 58, and 178.
A weak storm system will bring chances for light precipitation overnight tonight from Fresno County northward. Here are the probabilities for one tenth of an inch of rainfall.
A weak storm system will bring chances for light snowfall across the Sierra Nevada overnight tonight, mainly around Yosemite NP. This map displays the probability of one inch or more of snowfall above 7000 feet. A dusting of snow is possible down to 6000 feet.
A Freeze Watch has been issued for rural areas of the San Joaquin Valley from Monday night through Tuesday morning. Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees in the San Joaquin Valley are possible. Bring in sensitive plants & take precautions to protect other property from freezing temperatures.
The Climate Prediction Center's 6 to 10 day outlook gives central California a 50 to 60 percent chance for above normal precipitation from November 23 to 27.
