Snow Observer Needed in Concord, NH!!!!

 

The National Weather Service is looking for a snow observer in Concord, New Hampshire to take snowfall measurements this upcoming winter season.  Are you interested in the watching the weather?  Do you want to be a part of keeping a climate record that dates back to 1868!!! Do you live within 5 miles of the Concord Airport as a bird flies?  If yes, we would like to hear from you!  

The observer will need to take snow observations up to 4 times a day, at specific timeframes, on any days with wintry precipitation and/or if there is snow pack on the ground.  The measurements required to be reported via phone are water content of the snowfall, snowfall amount, and snow depth on the ground. NWS will provide the manual equipment, training, payment per observation and monthly stipend during the winter season from October to April every year.
