Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain in the Southern Plains; Fire Weather Threat in the Southwest U.S.

Thunderstorms, some severe, may produce heavy to excessive rainfall and isolated flooding over portions of the Southern Plains today and Saturday. Dry conditions, combined with gusty winds and low relative humidities will continue to support an elevated to critical fire weather threat in the Desert Southwest into to early next week. Dense fog, with visibilities of a quarter of a mile or less will continue through 9 am across portions of central and much of northeast Wisconsin.  The dense fog should gradually lift after 9 am. A dense fog advisory is in effect until 9 am for portions of central and much of northeast Wisconsin. If you must travel early this morning, use your low beam headlights and allow extra time to reach your destination.
