Heavy Rainfall for Portions of the West and Central U.S.; Monitoring Fire Weather Conditions for New England

Tropical moisture continues to flow across portions of the Great Basin, desert Southwest and California. Isolated instances of flash flooding remains possible. Meanwhile, a storm and associated frontal boundary will focus showers and thunderstorms for the center of the nation. Overview

Severe thunderstorms formed over eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin and quickly moved across the central and northeast part of the state. High winds and heavy rain occurred with the strongest storms.

Most of the heavy rainfall in the NWS Green Bay service area during the late evening of August 27-28 occurred in the southern Fox Valley and southern Door County. Reports from weather observers in Oshkosh indicated around 2 inches of rain with the storms. Forestville in southern Door County reported over 3.5 inches of rain with this storm alone.
