Showers and thunderstorms will continue at times across NE Montana today. There is a Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening that includes Winnett, Jordan, and Sidney areas and points to the south. The main risk is between 3PM and 10PM with wind gusts to 60 mph, large hail up to the size of quarters, and frequent lightning the primary concerns.
Near surface smoke from upstream wildfires has reduced visibilities to below 3 miles at times across much of eastern Montana this morning. This has caused air quality to become unhealthy for some places. For safety, limit time outdoors to reduce exposure. Close windows and keep air conditioner intake closed and filter clean. Follow official sources such as the EPA, NWS, or MT DEQ, or your favorite trusted media source for air quality updates.
