Tracking Areas of Fire Weather, Winter Weather, and Severe Weather Thursday

Continuation of gusty winds and low relative humidity will bring additional periods of critical fire weather to the southern Plains Thursday and Friday. Another Pacific storm will continue gusty winds and heavy snow over the western mountains into Thursday. Today (Wednesday, February 27th) between 8 am and 5 pm,

the Montrose NOAA Weather Radio (KXI-90 on this map) will intermittently lose audio.

The outage will be intermittent during the time listed above due to state technicians cutting over to the upgraded microwave line. This outage will affect the Montrose, Delta, Gunnison and Ouray listening areas. The map below shows the approximate area of outage.
