Severe Thunderstorms for mid-Mississippi and Ohio Valley; Record Warmth and Fire Weather Concerns

Severe thunderstorms are expected later this afternoon and evening across the mid-Mississippi and Ohio Valley's. Large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes are all possible. Meanwhile, record warmth across the southern tier of the country continues; This will enhance fire weather conditions for the Plains. Today (Wednesday, February 27th) between 8 am and 5 pm,

the Montrose NOAA Weather Radio (KXI-90 on this map) will intermittently lose audio.

The outage will be intermittent during the time listed above due to state technicians cutting over to the upgraded microwave line. This outage will affect the Montrose, Delta, Gunnison and Ouray listening areas. The map below shows the approximate area of outage.
