Atmospheric River in the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies this Weekend

A Pacific storm and atmospheric river will impact the Pacific Northwest states and northern Rockies this weekend, bringing locally heavy low elevations rain and heavy high elevation snow in the mountains. Red Flag Warning This Afternoon and Evening in Northwest Colorado and Northeast Utah

A trough will pass through the Northern Rockies this afternoon and tonight causing northwest winds to increase today over northwest Colorado and northeast Utah. These winds will combine with already hot and dry conditions, as well as very dry fuels, to produce critical fire weather over much of northern Colorado and Utah. A Red Flag Warning is in effect from Noon until 8 PM MDT today.
