Dangerous Cold and Gusty Winds Anticipated This Weekend

A significant arctic outbreak will bring frigid temperatures and dangerously cold wind chills to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic this weekend. Strong winds which could produce tree damage and power outages, and periods of snow squalls are also possible. NWS Hastings – Regional Weather Summary Product Discontinuation

Effective, Monday, July 1, 2024, the Hastings, NE NWS Weather Forecast Office will discontinue issuance of the Regional Weather Summary (RWS) product. The last RWS product will be issued during the late afternoon of June 30, 2024.

The information contained within the RWS can be obtained through other NWS Hastings products, such as the Area Forecast Discussion (AFD), social media (X/Twitter and Facebook), the Weather Story and Graphicasts.
