According to 30-year data from NCDC 1981-2010, normal annual precipitation across this six-county area generally ranges from 24-27 inches, with the highest amounts favoring the eastern counties of Jewell and Mitchell. Due to the serious drought situation that plagued much of 2012, most locations in the precipitation table below only realized between 50-80% of normal precipitation for the year.
