Rain and snow showers increase through the day today and persist well into this evening for areas above 5000 feet. Snow showers will persist overnight in far northern Arizona, and also at times along the Mogollon Rim. Most locations will just see an inch or two, that may quickly melt. Higher amounts are possible at higher elevations and in heavier bands.
Another round of rain and snow showers is forecast on Thursday, especially during the afternoon and early evening. A few thunderstorms are also possible. Snow accumulations will be light and will likely melt in between showers. Snow levels near 5000-5500 feet.
Cold and unsettled weather will develop for the rest of the week, with widespread rain and snow showers today. Brief periods of moderate to heavy snow will be possible this afternoon and evening in the higher elevations. High pressure begins to build back into Arizona early next week, with dry and warmer weather expected.
