Helene is expected to bring life-threatening and catastrophic storm surge and damaging hurricane-force winds to Florida and inland across the Southeast. Catastrophic and life-threatening flash/urban flooding, including landslides, is expected across the southern Appalachians. High pressure over Arizona will keep unseasonably warm temperatures and dry conditions through the weekend.
The strong ridge across the desert southwest will bring unseasonably warm temperatures to the region. Some places may near or break their high temperature records in the coming days.
