The Season's First Winter Storm November 17-18, 2016

The season's first winter storm moved out of the area during the early evening of November 18, 2016. This storm brought light snow into southeast North Dakota during the early evening of November 17th, with this snow spreading into west central and northwest Minnesota by the mid evening of the 17th. As strong north winds combined with the snow, blizzard conditions developed across the far southern Red River Valley into portions of west central Minnesota. Heavy amounts of snow also fell, with the highest totals around Hubbard County, Minnesota.
