A significant heat wave continues for the Rockies, Northern Plains, and Great Lakes into the Mid-Atlantic, peaking in intensity through midweek and lingering across parts of the Northern Plains and Midwest until this weekend. We will see isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday with the best chances for rain in area mountains. High temperatures will run a few degrees below average with east winds of 10 to 15 mph. Our skies will start the day mostly clear then become partly cloudy in the afternoon.
Rain chances increase into the weekend as a disturbance arrives from the east.
