Severe Weather and Flooding Threats for the Central U.S.; Dangerous Heat in the Southern and Western U.S.

Severe weather and flooding threats will continue for portions of the central U.S. over the next couple of days, with multiple rounds of thunderstorms expected. Dangerous heat will persist across the southern and western U.S. through mid-week. Heat Advisory in effect through Thursday evening. Temperatures reaching 104 to 108 degrees across southern New Mexico and far west Texas.
Ever as before, the heat continues on Wednesday, with high temperatures ranging between 102-108 for the lowlands. An isolated mountain thunderstorm is possible for Wednesday afternoon. Otherwise, the rest of the Borderland will remain hot and dry.🫩🌡️
A slight cooldown will begin on Thursday as the subtropical high moves south. Some moisture will seep into the region on Thursday, allowing for some isolated afternoon thunderstorms, especially out west. The Rio Grande Valley will still see temperatures around 105°F.
