Are you afraid of the dark? The end of October brings with it the ending of Daylight Saving Time which means earlier sunsets and cooler nights. El Paso loses almost two minutes of daylight every day this time of year and the days are more than 3 hours shorter than the June Summer Solstice. Halloween weather is in the borderland can vary due to the strength and timing of backdoor cold fronts, which originate as cold air intrusions from the Southern Plains. October and November are typically dry times of the year, with the monsoonal moisture cutoff and the region increasingly reliant on Pacific low pressure systems. This story features a wealth of Halloween weather and climate information focused specifically on El Paso, TX.
