KBHX Radar - Eureka, CA
A Wind Advisory is in effect from 7 AM to 4 PM Sunday for Del Norte and Humboldt counties coastal headlands and exposed ridges. Another frontal system will bring very windy to strong south-southeast winds on Sunday. Gusts up to 50 mph is expected over the more prominent coastal headlands and exposed ridges, with locally up to 60 mph possible.
Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall next week will bring an increased risk for flooding of areas with poor drainage. Flooding of rural roadways and landslides of steep and unstable hillsides will be possible.
A band of moderate to locally heavy rain will move across the area this afternoon and evening. Minor flooding of roadways will be possible. Ponding water on roadway may cause your vehicle to hydroplane. Slow down in heavy rain showers.
A large, long period swell will enter our waters tonight bringing large waves to our beaches. Breaker waves have potential to reach up to 28feet. These waves are very dangerous. Avoid waking on jetties, climbing rocks/logs, walking along steep beaches, and never turn your back to the ocean.
