Back-to-Back Pacific Storms to Impact the West Coast; Heavy Snow in the Central Appalachians

Back-to-back powerful Pacific storm systems to impact the Pacific Northwest and northern California through the end of this week with heavy rain, flooding, strong winds, and higher elevation mountain snow. The DEIA program provides guidance and support to all NWS employees by managing NWS efforts related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Complaint Procedures, NWS Workforce Demographics, Special Emphasis Programs and Cultural Awareness Observances, Reasonable Accommodation Program, Student Internship and Employment Opportunities, NWS Mentoring Program, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility training opportunities. +Diversity Management Council (DMC)

The NWS Diversity Management Council (DMC) was established to assist in creating a culture of belongingness. Led by the DEIA Program, the purpose of the DMC is to be a direct conduit to coordinate diversity and inclusion efforts within the NWS to support the creation of an environment for employees that is safe, inclusive, and conducive to the recognition, development, promotion, understanding, and utilization of all abilities, skills, and knowledge.

The DMC includes representatives from all seven (7) Special Emphasis groups recognized by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Department of Commerce (DOC), and NOAA.
