It is almost Thanksgiving time across Southeast Michigan, and many people have been curious about statistics associated with this holiday in the past.  Although Thanksgiving does not fall on the same date every year, the numbers below have been calculated based on the date on which Thanksgiving fell in the past.  Prior to 1939, Thanksgiving was celebrated on the last Thursday in November.  Starting that year, however, it was celebrated on the 4th Thursday in November, which is either the last or second-to-last of the month.  This year, the holiday falls on the latest possible date, November 28th. (The earliest possible date is November 22)
