EF0 Tornado Confirmed on Sanford Lake

A storm survey conducted by the National Weather Service confirms an EF0 tornado occurred in Midland County Sunday July 24, 2011. Video showed the tornado touched down on Sanford Lake just north of the mouth of Varity Creek and traveled 0.4 miles northeast before lifting near the south end of North Weeping Willow Lane. The tornado was 50 yards wide with wind speeds up to 65 MPH. Damage was limited to a boat hoist along with minor tree damage.
